2021 Easter | | Print | |
Dear CSC Family, Last year I wrote this about Easter: "Clearly this is a very different Easter than we are used to--no gatherings at churches to celebrate this most holy of days; limited family time together to share the joy of the meaning of the day. Yet, in this strange time in our history, I know that this brief message will find each of you giving thanks for the miracle that took place on Easter."
One year later, it is certainly possible to say things have improved at least in terms of the Wuhan pandemic, but not in terms of the political health of the country under Biden and the radical-Left-- quite the contrary! Still, as we have seen in the past during the Obama years and what we went through with the pandemic, we managed to do more than survive because of the faith we have in God and the spiritual beliefs that drive us not to give up no matter how dismal things look!
Again from last year's message: "Without God's willingness to sacrifice his only Son for our sins, Adam's sin would have kept us from eternal salvation. God's love, shown in Christ's sacrifice, gives us hope that if we follow God's word, we may also join Him in eternal happiness." I bolded "hope" because without hope, it is easy to lose your way, but notice how the CSC family always bounces back! We have that bedrock belief in our Christian Conservative values that drives us to not give up hope both in the spiritual promise of Easter, which translates into leading a good life, and the temporal challenges we face today, which leads us to remaining in the political fight to protect the Constitution despite the challenges we face.
So, as we approach this Easter, I think it is appropriate to look on last year as a test of our fiber and to see that as Americans we again rose to the occasion to overcome the Wuhan enemy, just as we have done facing other enemies. And, just as we have seen in the past, despite the adverse circumstances we found ourselves in last year, with the help of pastors such as Dr. Gonnella at Magnolia Springs Baptist Church, who kept his Church open to allow the faithful to remain in contact with God and their fellow faithful Church members through difficult times, we have prevailed today too. Given that, despite the adversity and hardships we faced, it seems to me that we have so much to be thankful for not only during this Easter season, but all year long.
I do hope that each of you and those in your family will have a blessed Easter and that your day will be filled with prayers of thanks for God's help in getting us through the pandemic and prayers for all those Americans we have lost due to Wuhan.
May God bless each of us, our families, or great state of Alabama, and the exceptional United States of America. Dr. Lou
