A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE JAM-PACKED WEEK

Dear Friends and Patriots,

Below I offer you a few select topics to think about. I put them in order from the nearly-inane to the almost insane; from least to most important. Are you watching? Are you listening? Do you understand? We’re playing for keeps these days. The divide widens and our philosophic opposition appears to be working up a real lather.   We need to keep cool heads to keep this as a cool war. We really don’t want it to go hot; trust me on that.

Here are my offerings for your consideration:

THE JUSSIE SMOLLETT SAGA - Jussie Smollett is something of a failing actor who appears to have sealed his own fate. He appears now on a TV program called EMPIRE. I can’t tell you anything about EMPIRE; I’ve never watched it. But, I do know Mr. Smollett’s character is being eliminated from future scripts. That was a fact that was made fairly clear in the very first news piece about Mr. Smollett and his alleged racist, homophobic attack. You should all know the story – a black gay guy is walking down a city street in Chicago at 2 a.m. in 14 degree weather when he’s set upon and beaten by two white rednecks wearing red MAGA hats. For no reason at all! Was it a crime of opportunity? Was it a crime at all?

When I read the first post on Smollett’s story on Facebook my immediate response was to post, “No, I don’t think so. This has too much “Twanna Brawley” about it. This is just another scam. Wait for it.” And, it seems my instincts were right, and for all the right reasons. I read the story and it was clear to me. Black gay guy … an actor losing his part in a TV drama ... a 14 degree night … 2 a.m. … two white guys … MAGA hats? I mean, really, who in their right mind would buy such a crock? To me it was an obvious attempt for someone to get more name recognition in hopes of salvaging a career. It was just too blatant. And, now, as Mr. Billy Shakespeare might say, “The truth outs!”

Smollett appears to have a couple of Nigerian friends who were willing to help him out. They roughed him up a little bit and he went off to the Chicago P.D. with his tale. The police aren’t dumb. But, they’ve learned how to deal with situations that have the potential to backfire on them, so they did a thorough, step-wise investigation and completely discredited the story. They could smell a set-up, but caution made them deal with it as a serious complaint. This past week they arrested the two Nigerians, then released them after they spilled their stories.

Only one question remains. Will Jussie Smollett be arrested and prosecuted for perpetrating a fraud?   NO, I was wrong! Two questions remain. The second one is: Should anyone actually care?

THAT WEIRD CONGRESSWOMAN – Everyone focuses on AOC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Ain’t she something? I’m still wondering why Boston College doesn’t revoke her degree. If I ran that college I’d be mortified that anyone so obviously limited in common sense and basic knowledge of … anything would represent my school as an honor graduate. What are they waiting for?

Of all the dumb things AOC has done this week’s dumbest thing was by far the dumbest of all. Imagine stepping up and eagerly taking credit for killing the Amazon headquarters deal that had the potential of bringing 25,000 new jobs to New York. Gov. Cuomo just has to be bashing his thick skull against a bridge piling somewhere. He worked night and day trying to put together an incentive package to get the Amazon deal, but AOC’s constant railing against capitalism and corporate greed convinced the company they were about to enter hostile territory. Imagine that, a corporation run by a progressive CEO that actually pays attention to the politics of the city they’re considering for a $12B investment. Who would have thought?

For some reason this episode reminds me of a certain former Governor of Puerto Rico who ran for office on an anti-Navy platform and helped force the Navy to close Roosevelt Roads Navy Station, then complained the Navy had turned its back on the poor Puerto Rican people. Only after she succeeded did it dawn on her the Navy was the single biggest employer on the island and weren’t playing games. AOC seems to have channeled that governor. You think maybe they’re related?

Now, the funniest speculations are beginning to appear about AOC. I mean actually funny, as in humorous. The speculations are that she’s actually a Trump plant, and that she was promoted to run for office to get inside the Democratic Party and wreck it. Gee, I love that! Of course the Republicans are way to dumb to pull something like that off, and Trump is just a bit too busy to indulge in such intrigues. But, it’s a great sign that the Dems are beside themselves over their latest party favor. She’s a one-woman wrecking crew, but try as she might she seems to always be tearing down her side.  

Trump must be loving this entire AOC thing. I know I am. I’m thinking a few of those whacked out Democrats who are already announcing their run for the presidential nomination in 2020 are loving her, too. After all, she diverts a lot of press time away from their own stupidity.

It’s still a long time before the next general election, but it’s shaping up to be quite a circus. Barnum & Bailey might want to resurrect their old Big Top for it. It could be the Greatest Show on Earth in 2020, replete with some of the biggest and most well-known clowns to be found anywhere. To me AOC is a world-class side show; a real clown’s clown. I look forward to many future laughs.

THAT WEIRD SENATOR WHO WAS COOL BEFORE COOL WAS INVENTED – I’m talking about that Senator from California – Kamala Harris. She’s one who certainly owes a lot to AOC for her diversions. After all, she’s now been outted by Willie Brown as one of his sex-toys, and then did that ridiculous interview where she talked about getting high on weed while in college while listening to Snoop Dog and Tupac Shakur rapping away. It didn’t take the fact-checkers twenty minutes to assign that last story all the Pinocchios they could.

I believe Willie Brown. Why would he lie about Kamala Harris? I think men should be believed about such things, don’t you? He has no reason to lie. It has to be embarrassing for him to admit what happened, but he did. Now, he has to live it down. As for the Senator, I can’t find that she’s actually made a comment on it, other than to dismiss things that happened so long ago she can’t recall. But, she can recall listening to two world-famous rap artists while screwed up on dope, even though the year she claimed to be doing that was at least half a decade before anyone heard of them. But … we should believe her, too. After all, why would she lie about such a thing?

Note another truth about Senator Harris. She has her own “Pocahontas, the Indian Princess” problem. Like that other Senator, Elizabeth Warren, Harris has posed for many years as something she isn’t. What she isn’t is African-American. Oh, she’s hyphenated, alright, but not from any combination we commonly use. Her mother is from India and her father is Jamaican. So, maybe she can claim one thing Senator Warren wishes she could – she’s 50% Indian! Well, that’s close enough, isn’t it? I’m not sure what you might call her other 50%, the Jamaican part - Caribbean-African? Anyway, the short story on this is for years she’s been “passing for black.” She has no black-American slave roots to claim, though she’s always sort of dodged that question until recently. Now she’s been outted on that story, too. She’s much more careful how she answers the question. She refers to herself now as a “woman of color.” OBTW – not that it matters, but her husband, Doug Emhoff, yeah … a white guy. So … allow me to chime in with those who will question all aspects of her “urban” authenticity.

THE REALLY BIG STORY – THE WALL – There are lots of people around who think our President lost “The Battle of The Wall.” He didn’t, though. What he did was change his plan. He telegraphed his methodology in the speech he gave in El Paso. He said he was asked if he had a Plan B in case Congress stiffed him on the $5.7B request to build border wall. He said, “I told them, yes, I have a Plan B. I also have a Plan C, a Plan D, and a Plan E. We will build the wall!” And that’s the truth, too.

People need to learn to listen to Donald Trump. He’s truly the most transparent politician around. Ask him a question and he’ll give an answer. The problem seems to be his answers either are not taken seriously, not understood at all, or they’re treated as dismissive comments. But, if you take the time to dissect the kernels of truth from his often disjointed manner of communication he almost always tells what’s on his mind and where he intends to drive the issues of importance to him. All anyone needs to do is listen and accept the truth that President Trump is playing the long game and has no intent to ever relent in his efforts to keep promises he made.

The current talking points Trump is using on the border issue are hitting home. People are getting better focused on what’s important down there – massive amounts of drug smuggling, Mexican cartel-driven violent crime, cross-border gang activity from Central America, the effects of sanctuary city policies, human trafficking, all kinds of violence done to those who are seeking to illegally cross our borders, the stupidity of our “catch and release” policies, the real dangers of living along the Mexican-American border, the cost of support for the huge numbers of illegal aliens who live among us, etc., etc., etc. Yes, President Trump is getting his messaging refined and more and more people are grasping the truth that border enforcement is a real, not a manufactured issue and has been a crisis for decades. Remember, President Reagan worked to resolve it and Congress knifed him in the back. The history of the Democrats is to always, always, always shout out the need for better border enforcement and a better immigration policy, all the while doing nothing substantive. They put money into programs and bureaucracy, which does nothing but make our government bigger and even less effective. They know what they’re doing. Do we know what they’re doing? The signs are clear that more and more citizens do.

I have no idea what plan President Trump is executing for his border security project. Plan B? Plan C? Plan D? Who cares? What we should care about is he is relentless in his quest to do what he promised. I do know he’ll take advantage of the powers granted to him by law. I do know his declaration of emergency will end up overcoming federal court stays, injunctions and challenges all the way to the Supreme Court. That will take a bit of time, but just like his policy regarding immigration from Islamist-controlled countries – he will prevail in the end and we will be better for it.

          OBTW – did you catch that bill Senator Ted Cruz authored, the El Chapo Act? If it wast enacted it would divert all the ill-gotten gains of Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera (a.k.a. “El Chapo”) to pay for our border security. That plan does two things – it costs the American taxpayer nothing at all and it helps with another part of President Trump’s promise – let Mexico pay for it. It’s not exactly Mexico paying, really, since most of El Chapo’s ill gotten gains were garnered through the illegal drug trade on the streets of America, but … it’s close enough!

ANOTHER BIG STORY – THE SLOW COUP IS REVEALED! – If you’re paying attention you know the rats of DOJ and FBI, those who were kicked to the curb, are now scrambling to get ahead of their own lies. When you lay out the timeline, based on the testimony of all the principle players in the conspiracy to create a coup against one person – President Donald Trump – it becomes crystal clear who the major players were and their intent. Many of the main characters are now on the street. Mr. Rosenstein is next. The truth of their machinations is now evident. We now know of a conspiracy to overthrow a duly-elected President. The truth of The Slow Coup is validated.   Now, what?

We should all have at least 20 questions regarding this saga. I suspect most of those questions will be answered, but I also expect we’ll get no satisfaction. The rats are so well insulated I just cannot foresee them getting the justice they deserve. Justice denied them is justice denied us, keep that in mind. Even more - justice denied in these cases is validation of the huge criminal enterprise our government has become. This is The Swamp! Draining that swamp may just be one promise too far for our President. He needs help in doing that, but so many people are invested in the vast criminal enterprise that I fear help is just not going to materialize.   We are all being sold out on this.   We need to demand justice. We need to do so loudly, publically, and with every means we have.

Keep this in mind – this is just DOJ and FBI. If President Trump were to take on the intelligence community for their crimes he’d need several lifetimes to succeed. We think the saga of the DOJ and FBI are scary. They pale in comparison to what’s out there being hidden from us by our intelligence agencies. Trust me on this.

NOW FOR THE REALLY BIG ONE! – You all are aware the nuclear bomb known as the US Debt just grew to $22T, aren’t you? While we worry about all the more mundane things in our lives our Congress continues to fritter away the future of all future generations of American taxpayers. I hope this is not my problem. If all works out for me I’ll be dead and gone before America admits to bankruptcy. But, what if I’m not? I don’t much relish the notion of being a very old white guy in a bankrupt America. I’m of the mind that will make me a handy target for elimination if the Democrats regain control of our entire government. All who are like me should take heed. We are marked!

$22T! If that doesn’t scare you, it should. That’s over $60K per citizen. It’s over $167K per taxpayer. It represents 76% of our GDP. It’s completely unsustainable, yet you hear almost no one in Congress ever mention it.

This is the nuclear weapon poised above all our heads. We were fretting about North Korea (those people Rush refers to as “The NORKs”) but we needn’t. North Korea has almost no actual ability to do us significant harm. Our politicians know that. But they want us to be afraid of North Korea instead of understanding out greatest enemies are in our own Capitol Building in Washington D.C. Those are the people who seem most intent to destroy us. And, they are making great progress in doing just that. PAY HEED, PEOPLE!

          The Debt Bomb – it could be our last whimper.
